Chimaka The Chimpanzee
I created this book for Dr Jane Goodall. She inspired me to travel to the island of Ngamba in Uganda where the orphaned chimps are rehabilitated. It was a difficult trip but rewarding. I went into the jungle each morning with the chimps. They always wanted me to carry them but they were too heavy. One sulked when I wouldn't carry him.
The chimpanzees talk to children about their life in the wild – what they eat, where they live and how they survive. There are facts, maps and important information at the back of the book.
