Lena The Lion

The first time a huge lion walked past my jeep, just a metre away, I was frightened. Could he jump into the open jeep? Then I got used to having a pride around the jeep and the thrill of being so close to photograph them. But it took a while to get used to them roaring at night when I was alone in my tent.

My guide traveled with me for three weeks while I photographed and wrote about their life in the Maasai Mara, Shaba, Amboseli and Samburu areas. The lions talk to children about their life in the wild – what they eat, where they live and how they survive. There are facts, maps and important information at the back of the book.
